More About Komarin
WHY KOMARIN
Komarin is named after the crèches my beloved mother and grandmother owned and ran. Their welcoming spirit extended from their crèches into their homes, creating a haven of warmth and acceptance. The name Komarin, chosen by my grandmother, means “come in,” perfectly capturing their open-hearted approach to everyone they met.
Komarin’s Vision
Komarin’s vision is to create a welcoming space where people can slow down, connect with themselves, and nurture a deep care for the environment. Through mindful art, journaling, upcycling, and exploring the healing power of plants and the ocean, Komarin encourages moments of calm, self-reflection, and awe for the natural world. The goal is to inspire creativity, transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, and bring joy to everyday life. Komarin celebrates simplicity, faith, and community, fostering a space where creativity and nature come together to enrich daily living.
My Grandmother: Faith
My grandmother embodied the essence of a true Christian with her unwavering kindness and genuine love for God. Her life was a testament to faith and generosity. Each Friday, she would host “Good News” gatherings at her crèche, captivating the children with Bible stories and heartfelt lessons. Her home was a haven for prayer meetings, where she and a small circle of friends and family would pray for others. One of her favourite shops was a Christian store filled with books and merchandise that she often bought to share. Whether it was tracts or other items that expressed Jesus’ love, she delighted in giving them away or leaving them where people could find them. Everyone remembers her as the kind, good-hearted Christian woman that she was. I want to continue her legacy by spreading God’s Word, praying for others and sharing Bible stories for children.
My Mother: Community
My mother has a genuine warmth and magnetic personality that makes her a beloved figure. She has a way of entering a room and instantly drawing people in, making everyone want to talk to her and be near her. Now semi-retired, she continues to make people feel welcome. She is my co-founder and the Chief Fun Organizer of the OWLS – a group of older, wiser ladies who meet once a month to share fun, laughter, and support. While I may not have a magnetic personality like my mom, I aspire to grow the community we started into a space where everyone feels welcome, and where helping and supporting each other is never too much effort.
Me: Creativity
I offer ways to nurture well-being and spark creativity through mindful art, journaling, upcycling, and the healing powers of nature. My work blends these practices with the soothing influence of the garden and ocean, where the natural world inspires creativity and reflection. Through mindful art and reflective journaling, I create spaces for self-expression and exploration, while upcycling allows me to transform discarded materials into meaningful creations. Whether through art, journaling, or eco-friendly crafts, my aim is to help you connect with yourself, embrace your creativity, and care for the environment.
