More About Komarin

About Us

Komarin’s roots run deep in family tradition, named after the cherished crèches my mother and grandmother once ran. The name itself, chosen by my grandmother, means “come in” in Afrikaans – perfectly capturing their gift of making everyone feel welcome, whether in their crèches or their homes.

Komarin’s Vision

To create a welcoming haven where faith flourishes, community bonds strengthen, and nature’s healing touch brings joy – all while giving back to both our community and the environment that sustains us.

My Grandmother: Faith

My grandmother’s faith illuminated everything she touched. Every Friday, her crèche came alive with “Good News” gatherings, where children eagerly gathered to hear Bible stories. Her home became a sanctuary for prayer meetings, and her heart overflowed with generosity. She shared kindness and messages of God’s love wherever she went, touching and transforming countless lives.

My Mother: Community

My mother, with her natural ability to light up any room, continues to be the heart of our community. As co-founder and Chief Fun Organizer of the OWLS (Older, Wiser Ladies), she brings women together for monthly gatherings filled with laughter and support. From organizing our weekly bodyboarding club to supporting elderly care initiatives, she shows that community spirit knows no age.

Me: Nature

My love for nature inspires everything I bring to Komarin. From creating with driftwood to encouraging care for the environment, I strive to share the beauty of the natural world while promoting thoughtful stewardship. Nature is a space where faith, creativity, and community come together, reminding us of the gifts we’ve been given and the responsibility to cherish them.
