The Colours of Salvation
Explore the significance behind each colour of our salvation bracelets
Black – Sin
Black represents sin and the darkness it brings into our lives. Romans 3:23 (NIV) reminds us, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” This colour symbolises the separation from God that sin causes, highlighting our need for redemption and the light of Christ.
Red – Blood of Jesus
Red symbolises the blood of Jesus Christ, which was shed for our redemption. Ephesians 1:7 (NIV) says, “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.” This colour highlights the immense sacrifice made for our salvation.
Blue – Baptism
Blue represents baptism, a significant step in our faith journey. Acts 2:38 (NIV) tells us, “Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’” This colour marks our entry into faith
White – Cleansing from Sin
White signifies purity and the cleansing of our hearts. Isaiah 1:18 (NIV) declares, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” This verse powerfully conveys the transformation and purity that come through God’s forgiveness.
Green – Growth
Green represents spiritual growth in Christ. 2 Peter 3:18 (NIV) encourages us to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen”. It symbolises our journey of continuous development in faith.
Yellow – Heaven
Yellow signifies the promise of heaven. Revelation 21:21 (NIV) describes it as “The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.” This colour represents the eternal joy and beauty awaiting us.
