This memory is shared by Anonymous and dates back to around 1983:
I went on a farm visit with my cousins, and as soon as we stepped into the farmhouse, a playful little kitten caught my eye. It was having a blast darting around the kitchen floor, and I couldn’t resist joining in the fun. I spent the entire weekend doting on this sweet kitten, often carrying it around in my farm hat like a little companion.
But when it was time to head home, I started to notice an itchy sensation on my scalp. My mother took me to the doctor, and it turned out that our furry friend had given me ringworm. The doctor advised a complete haircut to treat it properly.
I was a bit nervous about returning to school, especially since I was now bald. Thankfully, kids weren’t as mean back then as they can be today, so no one teased me, but I was very relieved when my hair started to grow back and I could finally put it up in a nice, tight ponytail again.
